We are pleased to share that Hallie Frederick, D.O., has joined the OSU Family & Internal Medicine – Riverside clinic. She is a recent graduate of the OSU Internal Medicine Residency Program and chose to specialize in internal medicine because of its diversity, complexity and wide scope of practice.

Get to know Dr. Frederick

Why did you choose to work at OSU Medicine?

During my three years of residency training at OSU Medicine, I could not have asked for a better experience. I developed a sense of pride and loyalty to OSU, making the decision to stay an easy one.

What inspired you to go into internal medicine?

I chose internal medicine because of its diversity, complexity, and wide scope of practice. I always knew that I wanted to work in primary care, but I also wanted to have a strong foundation in hospital medicine.

What are some of the latest innovations in medicine that you believe will help your patients?

Advancements in the utilization of technology. In addition to having access to their medical records via an app, patients are now notified when they are due for preventative care such as vaccinations or cancer screenings. This reminder prompts patients to ask questions and feel more involved in their treatment plans. Also, the rise in telemedicine visits has improved barriers in access to medical care, allowing patients to be seen by a provider when they otherwise could not have.

Describe a health tip you wish all your patients could achieve.

A quick and easy workout or walk around the block is better than doing nothing at all. Any level of physical activity is beneficial for both physical and mental health.

Tell us about a few of your personal interests.

I love spending time with friends and family, usually at the lake or at a country music concert. I have the absolute best dog in the world named CJ. Although I grew up in Arkansas, my dad raised me to be a diehard Buffalo Bills fan. Needless to say, I’m anxiously awaiting the start of football season!
